Forgiveness is not a reward.
Most people look for forgiveness from outside of themselves.
They try to earn it with their actions.
They spend their time and their energy
attempting to prove something
so they can wear forgiveness like a badge.
But forgiveness is a choice.
It’s your choice,
and yours alone.
You decide it
you accept it
you believe it
all from within.
The whole world can forgive you,
but until you choose to forgive yourself
you’ll always be longing for what you have carried all along.
